Baquacil Algicide is a chlorine free system, it is copper free and helps prevent or treat algae.

This algicide is for use with 35% strength Baquacil Shock ONLY and can help to clarifiy green water.

On starting

If the pool water was previously treated with chlorine or bromine and the corresponding content remains high, total neutralisation (for example using a sodium thiosulphate-based product) is absolutely necessary. Make sure that filtration is in progress. Adjust the pH between 7.0 and 7.4. Pour Baquacil Shock (see Baquacil Shock data sheet/label). 24 hours later pour Baquacil PHMB (see Baquacil PHMB data sheet/label). Pour 50 ml of Baquacil Concentrated Algicide per 10m3 of water directly in the pool, as close as possible to the surface, in front of the backlows (if there are any).

Ideal analysis Dose Filtration Frequency Where

Chlorine - 2mg/l
pH - between 7.0 - 7.4

50ml = 10m3 Running Every week Pool in front of backflow nozzles

In case of green water

Pour 1/4 litre per m3 of water directly in the pool, as close as possible to the surface, in front of the backlows (if there are any). If possible, before treatment, brush thoroughly places where there is algae (walls, ladders etc). If the spread of algae is very substantial, carry out shock treatment at the same time with Baquacil Shock (see instructions for use).

Caution:

  • In the event of prolonged absence, increase the product dose (for example, 1 month, add 1/2 litre of BAQUACIL Concentrated algicide per 20m3).
  • All bathers must be prevented from using the pool while the treatment is being carried out.
  • Never mix products together.
