Lo-Chlor Algae Knock-Out is a heavy duty, copper free, dual action formulation, guaranteed to kill the most stubborn forms of algae. Initial dose of 500mls per 10,000 litres of pool water. Maintenance does of 100mls per 10,000 litres of pool water. It's strong double action formulation with foaming action helps release 'clinging' algae.

What is it?

Lo-Chlor Algae Knock-Out is a heavy duty dual action formulation, quarternary ammonium algicide.

Who needs it?

  • A pool owner who has severe, resistant algae in the pool.
  • Ideal product for pebble and aging pool surfaces.
  • Ideal product for salt chlorinated and ionised pools.

What does it do?

Algae Knock-Out is effective against severe blue-green black spot and mustard algae.

What advantages does it have over other similar products?

  • It may be used in all types of pool finishes.
  • Compatible with all recognised sanitisers and other pool additives.
  • May be used in situations where a metal based algicide is inappropriate.
  • As well as lysing the algae cells, the increased detergent action (foaming) assists in releasing the clinging algae crusts from pool surfaces.

Professional tips

  • This product may smell and foam for a short period of time.
  • Reduce pH to around 6.8 for best results. At lower pH the waxy coating surrounding algae cells is greatly softened and allows easier penetration by chemicals.
  • Using 'equal parts' of Algae Knock-Out and liquid chlorine (i.e 5 litres of each) can help accelerate the action of the product.
  • Use in conjunction with Lo-Chlor Starver phosphate remover for very bad pools. Regular brushing recommended to assist in algae removal.
  • High doses of quat compound may combine with free chlorine resulting in excess levels of combined chlorine and this may last for 2 or 3 days. Addition of a suitable non chlorine shock is recommended if condition persists.
  • After algae has been removed, always follow up with regular dosing of a Lo-Chlor long life algicide and Lo-Chlor Starver phosphate remover. This will prevent re-occurrence of algae, and also assist in helping the efficiency of other chemicals in your pool.
