What type of pool can a Pool Mat be used in?

All types of flat surface pools, including concrete, gunite, fibreglass, vinyl, plaster, steel and other non-textured surfaces (not suitable for PebbleTec or textured tile surfaces, as air may get trapped under the mat interrupting the vacuum-suction effect).

Do I have to remove my Pool Mat to vacuum the pool?

Removing the pool mat is recommended for thorough, in depth pool cleaning. For routine vacuuming, you can leave it in the pool, however you may have to readjust its position when you finish, as repeatedly nudging it with the vacuum head may shift it slightly.

Will a Pool Mat interfere with my automatic pool cleaner?

Automatic cleaners should work as normal, continuing their path around the pool mat.  Any system that uses water jets would not be recommended however, as the force of the jets can create air pockets, allowing water to get underneath the pool mat which will dislodge it.

When will I receive my Pool Mat?

If the pool mat is in stock, it is typically despatched in 1-3 working days.  Custom made designs may take up to 3 weeks for design, manufacture and shipping.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety

Installation

1. Place the Pool Mat on top of the water's surface

2. Let the mat sink to the floor and assist it with a pool brush or extendable pole (ensuring there are no sharp edges that could tear or scratch the mat).

3. Flatten the mat with your brush and position where you choose! If it shifts position, try moving it to a level area of the pool floor and work out any trapped water from underneath with bare feet, from the centre outwards.

Caring for your Pool Mat

1. Remove the mat from the pool when it is not being displayed.

2. Do not store it in direct sunlight.

3. For storage, let it dry and store flat in a cool, dry area.

4. For winter or long term storage, you can roll the mat (printed side facing out) and store in a cool, dry place.  For optimum results, wrap the mat in the protective foam it was delivered with.  Doing this each winter helps to extend the mat's life and to protect it.  When ready to use it again, you may need to roll the mat in the opposite direction to flatten it out before putting it back in your pool.

Cleaning

  • Do not use abrasives or chemicals to clean Poolsaics™. Mild soap and a soft cloth are recommended.
  • Periodically clean the underneath of the mat to prevent algae or buildup occuring.
  • If planning to use heavy duty chemicals or for manual pool vacuuming, it is recommended you remove your pool mat.
