All components are industry standard, which means they can be purchased off the shelf here in the UK and also in Europe. Unlike many imported spas where the spa unit is CE approved but the individual electrical components themselves do not comply with European standards of safety, Catalina spas guarantee that the spa unit and all components are CE approved.
Q: Once I have purchased my hot tub, will I be able to obtain spare parts?
A: Of course, we always keep a great deal of spare parts in stock and on the shelf. Catalina who are based in Salisbury also keep a high level of stock at their warehouse.
Q: Do All Swim offer a ‘wet test facility’?
A: Yes we do! We always have at least two hot tubs on display in our showroom, which are filled with water for you to try. We also have changing rooms available, just call us to make an appointment.
Q: How quickly can I use my hot tub once it has been installed?
A: Usually within 8 – 10 hours after installation.
Q: Is the water chemistry easy to look after?
A: Yes, very much so. Your hot tub water is easily tested by using a dip
strip and it gives you clear information as to what to do. A simple operation taking a couple of minutes will always ensure your hot tub remains in tip top condition. if however you are unsure we are always available for help and advice and offer a free water treatment guide to assist you further.
Q: Can it be installed in the garden?
A: Yes! The majority of hot tubs owners have their hot tubs installed in the garden, they are all designed and installed for outdoor use.
Q: Can I use my hot tub all year round?
A: Absolutely! Many people tell us about their holiday experiences of using a hot tub in the snow! There’s nothing better than sitting in the warm, therapeutic waters on a winter's evening staring up at a starry sky.
Q: What are the likely running costs of my new hot tub?
A: Electrical running costs depend on use. Our hot tubs are built with dense foam insulation to help keep running costs to a minimum and you should budget between 80p - £1 per day.
Q: Once I have purchased my hot tub, does All Swim offer after sales care including maintenance and the supply of chemicals and accessories?
A: Absolutely! All Swim began trading in 1792, specialising in the supply of chemicals and accessories for pools and spas. We can supply free of charge, a mail order guide and water treatment guide and can offer help with water treatment over the phone or can analyse your water sample free of charge in our showroom. Once an order for chemicals or accessories has been placed delivery will be swift and efficient (normally the next working day unless otherwise advised) and we will be able to give you all the support you require should you need it.
Q: Do I need a base for my hot tub?
A: Wherever you decide to install your spa, it is essential that a solid foundation be provided (grass is unsuitable). If you are installing your hot tub outdoors we recommend that it is placed on a concrete base a minimum of 10cm thick. If you place your hot tub on a patio or on wooden decking it is important to make sure that your structure can support the weight of the hot tub filled with water and people.
Q: What power supply will be hot tub need?
A: Most hot tubs are permanently connected by a designated supply (hard wired). There will need to be a lockable isolator (minimum 2 meters from the water) and a cable run back to the tub with a suitable length tail. It is recommended this tail be in armoured cable. We recommend that the installation is carried out by a qualified electrician. The ampage requirement for each hot tub depends on which model you purchase, some run from as little as 16amps and others up to 32amps.
Q: Will my hot tub need a designated water supply and how often will I need to change the water?
A: No, the hot tub is simply filled up using a garden hose pipe. We recommend that you change the water approximately every 2-3 months depending on usage.
Q: How is the water in my hot tub filtered?
A: Catalina spas are built with a highly efficient cartridge filtration system filtering out the very finest particles, helping to keep your hot tub water sparkling.
Q: How often should I change the filters?
A: You don’t need to change the filters that often. We recommend that the filters are taken out and cleaned every 2 weeks depending on usage. The filters are best cleaned using our cartridge cleaner and left to soak overnight and then simply rinsed with a garden hose before re-fitting. We recommend the filters are replaced by new every 6 months.
